To Our Residents and Family Members:
We want to inform you that at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, we have received confirmation that one of our employees has tested positive for COVID-19.
Our employee is at home following CDC guidelines and the individuals at the facility who have had physical contact with the employee have been contacted. Our facility will now be listed on the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) website as a COVID positive site due to the employee's illness. Despite this complication, we stress that our facility, and most importantly, our residents remain COVID-19 free.
The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our top priority. We are doing what we can to limit the spread of COVID-19 within Pioneer Memorial Care Center, including staying in very close communication with local and state health officials to ensure we are taking all the appropriate steps under current circumstances.
We are committed to keeping you informed. If we experience any new cases, we will provide an update to you. We would like to reassure you that we will contact you directly if your loved one is suspected or diagnosed with COVID-19. Again, we would like to reassure you at this time our facility, and most importantly, our residents remain COVID-19 free.
We are taking steps based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19, such as:
• Enhanced infection control precautions
• Continued screening residents, staff, and essential visitors for expanded list of symptoms
• Continued restrictions visitation and entry of people to the building
• Testing staff and residents for COVID-19 based on current protocols and availability of tests
Our obligation is to ensure the safety for both staff and residents by following regulatory guidance. Employees are required to maintain the privacy of medical information and the privacy of all individuals. We ask that families of our residents to do the same to keep protected information private and avoid spreading panic unnecessarily.
We also understand that connecting with family members is incredibly important to our residents. Family members are encouraged to connect with their loved ones through video chat, calling, texting, or on social media. Pioneer Memorial Care Center has multiple I-Pad type devices available for video chatting. If you would like to utilize this option, please contact Activities to schedule a time and we will gladly make arrangements.
We will continue to share information as it changes and as we are allowed through MDH guidance. Please keep yourselves safe by following social distancing and washing your hands often.
